Sales Manager, Parsippany, NJ

Hometown: Stony Brook, New York
College: Bucknell University
Major: Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering
Fraternity/Sorority/Organizations: Lambda Chi Alpha, Delta Zeta Chapter (President and Vice President of External Relations)
Office(s) you’ve been a part of: Washington, DC, Parsippany, NJ
Hobbies/Interests: Soccer, Football, Basketball, Comedy, Movies, and Personal Relationships with friends, family, and business partners

Why did you choose IGI: I interviewed with Insight Global in 2004. At the time, I was looking for a firm that offered an outside sales role, had an opportunity for advancement, and created a culture where I could have fun with my colleagues. This company gave me all of these things, and has I am so glad that I chose Insight Global because it has delivered on every promise made, and I have had the best 5 years I could have possibly desired.

Work culture of IGI: Our culture is exactly what a sales culture should be. It is fast paced, it is demanding, and it breeds successful, enthusiastic individuals who truly care about being successful in their careers. Our culture does not allow negativity, and it encourages positivity all around. We work hard so that we can savor our successes, and celebrate our victories as often as possible.

Your favorite part of IGI: The people. I couldn’t be more proud to share my days, months, and years with the group of people we have assembled thus far. Nationwide, we have a collection of some of the most dedicated, polished, and professional people one can find, and it is these people who have made our company the rapid growing success story that it already is.

Your greatest challenge thus far and how you have overcome it: The greatest challenge I have faced in my career thus far with Insight Global was when I was asked to open a new office in Parsippany, NJ. I was tasked with taking a market that was completely cold, and turn the New York / New Jersey market into a thriving, profitable region for our company. We have been able to accomplish this goal over the last 2 years by hiring great people, keeping a positive outlook, and working our hardest to meet the needs of our customers. Our commitment to service and our relationships with our customers have made this an extremely successful venture and we still have many more victories to celebrate as we continue to build our name in this ever growing territory.

Your overall thoughts about the opportunity at IGI: I don’t think that many people realize how much hard work truly goes into making something great. Whether you are talking about sports, music, entertainment, or business, there is no such thing as an overnight success. People may see things a certain way, but they do not know about the years of hard work and dedication that go into the development of any successful professional. This defines my thoughts on the overall opportunity at Insight Global. For a person who is truly interested in becoming a successful professional, our company provides the tools, the training, and the path to a great career.

We have so much more to achieve in the next 10 years, and it is so exciting to know that I will be a part of the leadership and development of many new success stories here at our firm.

Account Manager, Washington, D.C.

Hometown: Staten Island, New York
College: University of Delaware
Major: Psychology Minor: Business Fundamentals and Philosophy
Fraternity/Sorority/Organizations: NFL Cheerleader, Phi Sigma Sigma, National Honor Society and Psi Chi
Office(s) you’ve been a part of: Baltimore and DC

Why did you choose IGI: I knew Insight Global was the right choice for me strictly from my interview process. Every single person I met during my interviews had an amazing story and was so interesting. I saw a characteristic of myself in each individual and was hopeful to be as successful as they were. I could not wait to start my first day at IGI!

Work culture of IGI: The work culture of Insight Global is very unique. We are energetic and extremely motivated individuals. There is not a day that goes by that is ever the same. You learn by doing, and you have a strong support system behind you every step of the way. All in all, we work hard and we play even harder!

Your favorite part of IGI: My favorite part of IGI is coming to work every day with my friends. This, along with the successes that I have been fortunate enough to see so early in my career, make coming to work every day enjoyable and something I look forward to.

Your greatest challenge thus far and how you have overcome it: My greatest challenge, thus far, with Insight Global was moving to a new city, being DC, and growing a new account. I was unaware of what I was getting myself into, or what obstacles I would have to overcome – I just knew that it wouldn’t be easy. Regardless, I stepped up to the challenge. Surrounded by experienced colleagues and supportive management, I trusted in their advice and worked as hard as I could. I don’t know of another company CEO that would personally call to make sure I was comfortable in my new environment, or another Director of Operations going out of their way to book a moving company for their new employee’s arrival. I am so thankful for the guidance and help I was given and I wouldn’t change my road to success for anything!

Your overall thoughts about the opportunity at IGI: There is no other place that holds as many motivated individuals. Many people do not stay with their first job out of college. I am very fortunate to have found my niche so early. If you are willing to learn, compete, push yourself, not give up, experience highs and lows, hold yourself accountable, hold your colleagues accountable, work hard, play harder - and at the end of the day walk out of the office excited to be back bright and early in the morning, then you are in the right place.

Director of Operations, Washington, D.C.

Hometown: Lake Charles, LA
College: Virginia Tech
Major: Marketing
Fraternity/Sorority/Organizations: Delta Chi Fraternity
Office(s) you’ve been a part of: DC; Seattle; Nashville
Hobbies/Interests: Golf, Snowboarding, Books, Movies, Guitar, Travel

Why did you choose IGI: I chose IGI because of the people and opportunity for growth. I didn’t want to be another number at a large company and wanted responsibility quickly. IGI gave me the opportunity to set attainable goals and achieve them through hard work, persistence, and a little luck. I saw the opportunity for what it is – you get out what you put in.

Work culture of IGI: Work hard, play hard. It’s cliché but the best descriptor of our culture. We work hard for our clients and contractors but take the time after work to celebrate the little victories. We congratulate ourselves twice a year at our National Sales Conferences in Atlanta and once for the Senior Sales Conference in Miami. Other than that, we work hard to create the opportunity for everyone who wants to put in the effort necessary to make IGI great. Our mentality doesn’t differ from much else that’s worth anything in life – if you want it, you have to work for it.

Your favorite part of IGI: The people – our consultants, clients, and internal employees – and the passion for creating something special. We are comprised wholly of people who want to earn their success and grow a business. If you’re looking for handouts you won’t find them here and it has given me an appreciation for the people who want to put in the time and effort necessary to make themselves successful. I haven’t seen or heard of any another company where I could surround myself with this many people who are as passionate about the success of themselves and those around them. It’s extremely rare to be in an environment where you can literally go to battle every single day with your closest friends and continue to come out victorious. I feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to associate myself with such driven individuals and continue to grow year after year.

Your greatest challenge thus far and how you have overcome it: Opening the Seattle office – by far! I overcame it the same way I have overcome every challenge in my life – I had help from people I care about more than I could express. My gratefulness for the team that opened and grew the Seattle office in that first year is immeasurable. They all became my closest friends and I can’t fathom where I would be today without them.

Your overall thoughts about the opportunity at IGI: There is no place I’d rather be every single day than growing a business with my closest friends and there is no opportunity that I know of where I could be so fortunate to do that.

Please Describe:

Why did you choose IGI: The growth opportunity and culture definitely set IGI apart from any other company. As one of the fastest growing staffing agencies in the nation, it’s very apparent that the drive and ambition of every person who works with Insight Global has pushed this company to be the absolute best. Even the owners, CEO, and President show true interest in your career and motivate you on a consistent basis.

Work culture of IGI: Professional and full of energy. We have a very unique culture, and it’s one that helps us be as successful as we have become. It’s definitely a “work hard, play hard” mentality, and we are all very close inside and outside the office. We do whatever it takes to bring the best customer service to both our clients and our contractors.

Your favorite part of IGI: We definitely work extremely hard; however, this company takes care of their employees. The incentives are so amazing, and I couldn’t ask for better motivation. I was also very impressed with the communication flow. There aren’t very many companies out there where you could call up the owner or shoot them an email just to say hi and see how their day is going. I also hear from them at least on a monthly basis.

Your greatest challenge thus far and how you have overcome it: Many challenges we face are all conquerable. We sell a service and there are times when things happen that you don’t expect to, but that is why we build the relationships we have with our clients. I cherish all of my relationships, and they know that I will do whatever it takes to fix anything that seems to go downhill. The best part is that even your lowest lows go right out the window the moment something good happens. There truly isn’t a better feeling than placing an amazing person with one of my clients, and knowing that both are extremely happy.

Your overall thoughts about the opportunity at IGI: I’ve now been here for almost three years, and I can honestly say that working for IGI has been the best decision I’ve made. I couldn’t ask to work for a better company. One where everyone is like family, and we flat out bring it every day. I am in a sales, but it’s a great feeling to be able to sell from the heart and know that the service you sell, sells itself. Growing with a company like IGI has been an amazing journey, and I am excited to see what the next five years brings.

Sales Manager, Seattle, WA

Hometown: Olympia, WA
College: Western Washington University
Major: International Business with a concentration in Economics
Fraternity/Sorority/Organizations: Sigma Iota Epsilon, Honorary Society
Office(s) you’ve been a part of: Seattle Office
Hobbies/Interests: Kickball, flag football, dodge ball, tennis, sailing, camping, river rafting, outdoor concerts, travel-- lived in Spain, traveled to England, Africa, Italy, China, along with new books, friends, new types of food, theater, etc

Why did you choose IGI: Honestly, I chose IGI because of the people I met during the interview, it really ended up being that simple. I had a few job offers at the time, but appreciated the chance for growth, the opportunity to work with like-minded professionals, the track record of success for IGI and the financial potential.

Work culture of IGI: Every single person here contributes and gives it their all every day. When you work with people that care and are high performers, you automatically play up. It is a cohesive environment where everyone’s success is linked—I love that everyone is willing to help each other and support their teammates. Also, and most importantly, we have a great time every day.

Your favorite part of IGI: If I had to pinpoint one thing, it would be being a part of seeing my friends buy a house, reaching their professional goals, finding stability, growing personally for the better. This career will absolutely give you what you put in and more.

Your greatest challenge thus far and how you have overcome it: My biggest challenge was stepping into Management after less than 2 years with the company. It is one thing to be productive by simply doing it yourself, it is another to be a strong motivator and get things accomplished through others. Looking back, I was lucky to have friends who cared enough to be up front with me and patient. I wouldn’t be where I am out without my team in Seattle and the leadership I had.

Your overall thoughts about the opportunity at IGI: If you have the right personality, this career is very rewarding. Anything worth having is worth working for. You always end your day with a sense of accomplishment and have a chance to stretch yourself and take on more responsibility every day.

Fraternity/Sorority/Organizations: I played on the women’s soccer team!!
Office(s) you’ve been a part of: Dallas
Hobbies/Interests: I enjoy being with all of my friends! We love to go out and have fun on the weekends!

Why did you choose IGI: There are several aspects of IGI that I love! When I was looking for a job, I wanted to be able to advance in leadership quickly. IGI is growing and developing new leadership roles every year. I wanted this to be a career, not just a job. The opportunity to grow and to be promoted within the company is so great.

Work culture of IGI: FUN!! The work culture of IGI is unlike any company. That is what makes our company so special. It is something that I am proud to say that I have been lucky enough to be a part of it! We work hard and play even harder!! It is not every day that someone gets to come to work with all of their best friends. Everyone in this company has such great energy and we all feed off of one another.

Your favorite part of IGI: The people and the culture! It is not easy to be successful, and if it was, then everyone would be! Professional Recruiter, Boston MA

Hometown: Binghamton, NY
College: State University of New York, College at Brockport
Major: Bachelor’s of Science, Marketing
Fraternity/Sorority/Organizations: 4 Year Letterman - Football
Office(s) you’ve been a part of: Boston
Hobbies/Interests: Sport/Business/Fitness

Why did you choose IGI: When I first came into contact with Insight Global, I was living in Charlotte NC. I was offered a position in Boston, MA and accepted it and moved my life because I saw the potential for growth within an up and coming company.

Work culture of IGI: The company culture is second to none. Each person truly cares about the growth of everyone else and because everyone has a lot in common, there is a strong level of unity and loyalty. I have developed friendships here that will last a lifetime.

Your favorite part of IGI: The time and effort you put in, determines what you get out. In many other companies, it is a requirement to be with that company for a specific time period before you can be promoted or receive a compensation increase. At Insight Global, you create your own path/journey. From my efforts put in, I was able to be promoted within my first year of employment and was given that opportunity to lead and oversee others. This is a huge opportunity because at an early stage in my career, I have developed skills that others may not be able to develop till much later in their careers.

Your greatest challenge thus far and how you have overcome it: I was not offered the position that was my first choice, at first. I initially wanted to be promoted into an Account Manager position, but was not offered it. I have overcome this by accepting my current role thus creating a position that has allowed me the freedom to develop my skills. This position has given me the opportunity to develop both leadership skills and excellent sales abilities.

Your overall thoughts about the opportunity at IGI: Insight Global gives individuals the opportunity to develop into experienced/business savvy professionals. I am an individual that enjoys to be challenged to be better, enjoys working harder than anyone else, and enjoys being around others who feel the same, and due to this, Insight Global is the best company and culture for me to work and thrive in.

Your overall thoughts about the opportunity at IGI: The opportunity at IGI is like no other opportunity someone could have, especially right out of college.
